I'm the exact same age as you. I feel that writing is the one thing you can do at any age as long as you are able to see and type and obviously are lucid enough for it not to be a disaster. I wrote a clever and very funny piece about turning 50 last year which went viral and was my most successfull story on Medium to date. Yoy have a lot of followers so you must be doing something right! :)
